Sitting, listening, first day

School Readiness Program in Multan

School uses sitting, waiting, following an instruction and asking for help from day one. Letters are taught at school. This programme practises the skills that actually spoil the first term when they are missing.

About School Readiness

The school-readiness programme at Inclusive Developmental and Therapy Center in Model Town, Multan practises the skills school actually uses on day one: sitting, following an instruction, asking for help, a goodbye that ends — then pre-reading, pencil control and a short group sit. Letters are taught at school. They are not a trophy. Contact owner Muhammad Salman Afzal first; faculty includes Mahnoor Baloch. School-readiness hours are delivered by psychologist Akasha Tariq under that plan. A consultation is Rs 1,500 and lasts up to 50 minutes.

Parents usually say he knows ABC but cannot sit, she cries at the door, the teacher says he does not listen. Tick the checklist over a week of ordinary days. How Mahnoor frames readiness (Beaconhouse Early Years, sitting before letters) is here. The longer parent guide is school readiness.

This is a listed programme on our flyer because families ask for it by name. It is not a ninth kind of medicine. It sits next to special education and, for autistic children, autism support.

Who this is for

  • Children heading toward nursery or school who cannot yet sit, wait or follow a two-step instruction
  • Autistic children whose classroom day is the battle
  • ADHD, when sitting and finishing a short task are the gap
  • Children who know letters but cannot last a group sit
  • Down syndrome and developmental delay, at this child’s pace
  • Parents unsure whether to delay school a year

What the programme actually holds

A short group sit. A two-step instruction. Sitting tolerance. Task completion. Pre-reading and letter-sound work when the child is ready — not as a performance. Pencil control and pre-writing. Number recognition and counting when those are the next step. Asking for help. A goodbye that ends.

Who does the hours

Contact the owner first and writes the plan. Akasha delivers school-readiness psychology: individual goals, structured activities, prompting then fading, task analysis. Speech questions stay with Mahnoor. Feelings and family work sit with Muhammad Salman Afzal. A teacher can act on a one-page list — the letter to school.

What is not readiness

Reciting the alphabet. Writing their name as a party trick. Sitting still because they are scared. Readiness is whether Monday morning is survivable. Delay a year only if sitting, waiting and language are the gap and a year of the right practice would change them — that is a judgement after assessment, not a rule.

What to tick at home this week

Breakfast, the bag, the door. Not a mini-school at the dining table. Use the checklist over a week of ordinary days, not the best afternoon. The parent guide is school readiness. Coaching can watch the goodbye: parent coaching. Cluster: at home.

Pre-reading at home is sounds in play, a story sit, pencil control if the hand is ready. That is Akasha on literacy — not a crash course in the alphabet.

Once school has a door

Classroom readiness is a group sit, instructions in pieces, and a one-page list a Pakistani teacher can try for ten days. Not a Western IEP copied onto a page. Ask: seat facing the teacher; instructions in pieces; a warning before a change. Pages: letter to school, classroom support, IEPs with Mahnoor, classroom cluster.

If the school will not try anything, a dated one-page trial is still worth writing. A smaller setting is sometimes kinder this year — mainstream or special.

What a session actually looks like

  1. 1You tell us what the school or the next classroom will actually demand.
  2. 2We pick two skills from the checklist that failed on ordinary days.
  3. 3Practise in a short sit, with a prompt that we then fade.
  4. 4You leave with one home routine (breakfast, the bag, the door) and, if school has started, a sentence for the teacher.
FAQ

School Readiness: your questions answered

They know the alphabet. Isn’t that ready?

Letters are taught at school. Sitting, waiting and asking for help are used from day one. Tick the checklist over a week of ordinary days.

Does Akasha lead the first assessment?

No. Contact owner Muhammad Salman Afzal first. Akasha delivers school-readiness hours as faculty under that plan. How she works: Akasha on school readiness.

Should we delay school a year?

Sometimes, if sitting, waiting and language are the gap. Sometimes starting with support is kinder. That is a judgement after we have seen your child.

They know letters but cannot last the group.

Then letters are not the gap. Sitting is. See sitting and waiting and Akasha on classroom skills.

Who do I book — Mahnoor or Akasha?

Book a consultation. Contact the owner first. School-readiness hours follow that plan with Akasha. You do not have to choose the door yourself.
