Questions to ask a child therapist
Take this list into the first appointment. You are not being difficult. You are making sure the hour is about your child, not a sales script.

Copy these into your notes
- What are you seeing, in words I can repeat to my family?
- What is the first goal, and how will we know it has moved?
- Who practises between sessions — me, you, or both?
- How often would you want to see us, and for how long each time?
- What would make you say this is not the right therapy, or not the right centre?
- Do you diagnose, or do you assess and refer to a doctor when a medical opinion is needed?
- Will you write something the school can use, and is that a separate piece of work?
- Can sessions be in Urdu, and can a grandparent or helper sit in?
If they talk only about hours and packages, ask the goal question again. If they promise a cure, walk away — see unproven autism treatments. If they will not let you in the room, ask why; parent coaching is how most of the progress happens: parent coaching.
Bring school notes if you have them, and the teacher’s exact sentence. “He cannot copy from the board” is more useful than “I think it is ADHD”. What happens on the day is on how therapy works and before your appointment.
Asking questions — what parents worry about
Is it rude to ask about qualifications?
No. Ask who leads the work and what they are trained in. Our about and specialists pages answer that for us before you walk in. A longer checklist for picking a centre is how to choose a child therapy centre in Multan.
What if they cannot answer in plain language?
Ask them to try again. If the hour is still jargon, that is information. You need a plan you can run at breakfast, not a label you cannot explain to the class teacher.
We already have a report. Should I still ask these?
Yes — especially “what would you change in the plan?” If you are unsure about the report itself, start with a second opinion and just diagnosed.
Can I send the list on WhatsApp before we meet?
Please do. It makes the consultation more useful. A consultation is Rs 1,500 and lasts up to 50 minutes, in person in Multan or online.
Want to run the list with us?
A short, friendly conversation is the best first step. Call, text or WhatsApp us — we’ll listen and guide you, with no pressure.
