🇮🇪 Online support in Ireland

Online speech therapy in Urdu and English for families in Ireland

From Multan we coach Pakistani and South-Asian parents in Dublin, Cork and across Ireland in Urdu or English, most often while an HSE or CDNT wait ticks along.

Support for children and families in Ireland

Our centre is in Multan, Pakistan — we don’t have a branch in Ireland. For families in Ireland we work entirely online, in English or Urdu, and we point you to your own country’s services too.

Ireland’s Pakistani and South-Asian families are smaller than Britain’s, and that is part of the problem. Dublin and Cork have communities; many other counties do not. When speech is slow, parents often cannot find an Urdu-speaking therapist locally, and the public route — GP, Public Health Nurse, HSE Primary Care, or a Children’s Disability Network Team — can take a long time to start.

We are one physical centre in Multan, owned by Muhammad Salman Afzal, with faculty including Speech & Language Therapist Mahnoor Baloch. We have no Irish branch, no CORU registration, and we do not write Assessment of Need reports. For families in Ireland we work by video only. The UK page next door is online support for UK families — Ireland is a different health system, and we treat it as one. Urdu video coaching: online Urdu speech therapy from abroad.

The clock is the same as Britain’s: Ireland sits four to five hours behind Pakistan. A morning or early-afternoon slot on your side — roughly 9am to 1pm — sits inside our Monday to Friday, 2pm to 6pm Multan hours. After-school in Ireland is already evening here, and we would be closed.

How we help

Working with families in Ireland

We start with the Irish picture: where you are on the HSE pathway, whether an Assessment of Need is in writing, what the school or Early Years setting has said, and which languages your child hears in a week. Then we agree a small home plan that will not fight whatever your local therapist later does.

Between calls you lead. We show you how to draw words out at tea-time and on the school run, how to hold a calm boundary, and how to turn dressing and self-care into daily wins. Read how online sessions run before you book.

Across the team we cover speech, behaviour, special education, child psychology and a first look at development. We do not have a licensed occupational therapist. Motor and daily-living coaching is named honestly, not as clinical OT.

What can we do while we wait for HSE or a CDNT?

Keep the public referral moving. An Assessment of Need under the Disability Act is a written request — put it in writing and keep a copy. A Children’s Disability Network Team is a different door from ordinary Primary Care speech and language therapy; ask which one you are actually on. We will not guess your county’s wait.

While you wait, we coach the hours you already have. Nursery and school in Ireland do not need a diagnosis to try seating, extra time to start, or a visual schedule. Our classroom support page is written for that conversation. Count words across Urdu and English together — bilingualism does not cause delay.

Ireland is not the NHS

British relatives will tell you to “just get an EHCP.” Ireland does not use EHC plans. School support goes through the NCSE and the school. Assessment of Need is a legal process with its own clock. Mixing the two systems wastes months. If you moved from the UK, say so on the first call so we do not coach you in the wrong paperwork.

We cannot complete an Assessment of Need, sit on a CDNT, or write a report a school in Ireland is required to accept. What we can give you is a plain-language summary of what we see, which some parents take into a meeting. That is coaching, not a statutory assessment.

What an online session looks like from Dublin or Cork

An ordinary video call, usually an Irish morning, camera on the child during play rather than a performance at the laptop. We pause, change one thing you do, and you try it while we watch. You leave with one or two practices in the language you read more easily.

If you spend summers in Pakistan, coaching can continue in Multan time without a six-week hole. Some families come into the centre in person while they are here.

Local services

Getting help where you are, too

Alongside working with us online, here’s how families in Ireland can reach support in their own area. Processes change, so always double-check locally.

HSE, Primary Care and CDNTs

Start with your GP or Public Health Nurse, or contact your local HSE Primary Care team. Children with more complex needs may be referred to a Children’s Disability Network Team. You can also request an Assessment of Need in writing. Processes differ by area and change — confirm locally.

School support through the NCSE

Ask the school or Early Years setting what support they can try now, and how they work with the National Council for Special Education. A diagnosis is often not required to start classroom adjustments.

FAQ

Questions from families in Ireland

Are you registered with CORU or the HSE?

No. We have no Irish registration and no branch in Ireland. We coach parents online from Multan. Formal assessment, diagnosis and funded therapy belong with Irish services.

Can you write our Assessment of Need?

No. That is an Irish legal process. We can help you describe your child clearly in Urdu or English. We will not produce a document that pretends to be the assessment.

Is this the same as your UK page?

No. The clock is similar; the system is not. Ireland uses HSE, CDNTs, Assessment of Need and the NCSE, not NHS trusts and EHC plans. Use this page if you live in the Republic. Northern Ireland sits on our United Kingdom page.

What time can we book?

Monday to Friday, 2pm to 6pm Multan time — about 9am to 1pm in Ireland, depending on daylight saving. After-school Irish slots are after we have closed.

Do we need a diagnosis before we start with you?

No. A consultation is Rs 1,500 and lasts up to 50 minutes. Bring any HSE or school notes if you have them. If you have none, we start from what you notice at home.

Should we speak only English now we are in Ireland?

Usually no. Keep the language you are most fluent in at home. English comes from school and friends. Dropping Urdu to “help English” typically shrinks the child’s total language.
