Disclaimer & how we make our content

Our promise, and an honest disclaimer

We care deeply about getting this right, and we do our very best for every family. Everything on this site — our checks, milestone guides, home programs and activities — is built on established, research-based practice and the published guidance of trusted authorities, including the CDC (US Centers for Disease Control), the NHS (UK National Health Service), ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) and the WHO (World Health Organization). These are the standard procedures that therapists and clinicians use, turned into plain steps any parent can follow at home. Our content is written by our qualified therapy team and medically reviewed by a GMC-registered doctor.

  • This is educational information, not a diagnosis or medical advice. It does not replace a proper assessment by a qualified professional who can see your individual child.
  • Every child is unique. Because development varies so much from child to child, we cannot promise any specific result or outcome. What helps one child may not suit another — please use your own judgement and adapt gently to your child.
  • You use this information at your own discretion. While our guidance reflects standard, well-regarded practice and is intended only to help, we cannot accept responsibility or liability for how it is used, or for outcomes in any individual child. The choice to follow any suggestion is yours.
  • Always seek professional advice if you are worried, if something doesn’t feel right, or if your child loses skills, doesn’t respond to sound, or shows any of the “seek help” signs we list. A local doctor, health visitor or therapist is the right person to guide your individual child.
  • In an emergency — if your child is in immediate danger or seriously unwell — call your local emergency number or go to your nearest emergency department straight away.

In short: these are genuine, standard, research-based approaches offered in good faith to help you help your child — but they are general educational guidance, not a guarantee, and not a substitute for professional care for your individual child.

How we make our content

None of these free tools are thrown together casually. Every check, milestone guide and home program goes through the same honest process:

  1. We start from established guidance. Our milestones and “seek help” signs are drawn from public, widely-used sources — the CDC’s Learn the Signs milestones, the NHS, ASHA and the WHO — not from opinion.
  2. We turn standard therapy practice into plain steps. Our home programs translate the same techniques therapists use (modelling, following the child’s lead, positive reinforcement, structured routines) into simple things any parent can do at home.
  3. Our therapy team writes and reviews it. Content is prepared and checked by our qualified team (below), so it reflects real clinical practice — kept warm, plain and non-alarming for worried parents.
  4. We never fabricate. We don’t invent statistics, reviews, testimonials or credentials. Where we cite a source, it is a real one — see our evidence base.
  5. We stay in our lane. Everything is framed as educational support, never as a diagnosis, and we always point you to a professional for your individual child.
