Reading and writing readiness — how Akasha works
Akasha builds the literacy skills a classroom actually uses: letter and sound recognition, vocabulary, comprehension, pre-writing, pencil control and early writing. Not a crash course in the alphabet as a performance.

What she actually builds
Letter and sound recognition. Vocabulary. Comprehension of a short instruction or a picture book. Pre-writing shapes. Pencil control. Early writing when the hand is ready. Number recognition and counting sit next door when those are the next step.
A child who recites ABCs but cannot sit for a story is not ready in the way that spoils the first term. Sitting and following an instruction come first — classroom skills and school readiness.
Dyslexia and a slow start are not the same pile
If reading or spelling is the wall after school has started, that may be dyslexia or dysgraphia. Akasha still teaches in small steps. Formal labels, when needed, sit with assessment and, if medical, a doctor. Mahnoor’s special-education page is here.

Reading & writing — questions parents ask
My child is four and not reading. Is that delay?
Usually it is being four. School teaches letters. We still practise sitting, sounds in play, and pencil control if those are the gap.
Will you drill worksheets?
Not as the first move. Short, engaging steps, then a skill used in a real routine. Worksheets that only produce tears are not the plan.
