Video development coaching for Pakistani families across Greater Los Angeles
Half a world east in Multan, our therapists meet LA parents by screen and speak with them in both Urdu and English, so that even across the widest time gap we work with, a child near Pioneer Boulevard keeps hearing familiar, patient encouragement at home.
Our centre is in Multan, Pakistan — we don’t have a branch in Los Angeles. For families in Los Angeles we work entirely online, in English or Urdu, and we point you to your own country’s services too.
Pioneer Boulevard in Artesia — the stretch known as Little India, though its shops and restaurants serve the whole South Asian diaspora — is where Pakistani Los Angeles gathers for weekend groceries, gold and good food. But LA is not a city you walk; the community it anchors is flung across an enormous basin, from the South Bay to the Inland Empire's edge, with an hour of freeway often standing between a family and the nearest relative, let alone the nearest culturally-fluent clinician. Sheer distance is the quiet pressure behind why so many families here look for support they can reach without the car.
Our centre is a single site in Multan, Pakistan. We keep no California office, and we hold no state licence — the model is simple, we meet parents over video and coach them to support their own children directly. Guiding that work is Mahnoor Baloch, a speech and language therapist with over five years behind her. Los Angeles families most often come to us for the ease of being understood in Urdu and the comfort of a shared frame of reference, so that a worry about a quiet toddler needs no cultural footnotes.
The distance to Pakistan is real, and we don't pretend otherwise: at twelve hours, Los Angeles is the hardest city we work with to schedule, and honesty about that upfront saves everyone frustration. But once a family settles on a standing weekly slot — a morning here that is an evening there, or the reverse — the gap becomes a fixed, predictable rhythm rather than a nightly negotiation, and the car-free convenience more than makes up for the arithmetic.
Working with families in Los Angeles
Several kinds of support live under the one roof. Alongside Mahnoor's speech and language work, colleagues cover behaviour and ABA-style strategies, special education, child psychology, developmental assessment, and the motor-and-independence skills — handwriting, coordination, feeding, dressing. We name one boundary plainly: no licensed occupational therapist works with us, so we never repackage our motor coaching as occupational therapy, and if that exact service is what's needed, a California provider should deliver it.
The first session is largely questions. We want to know how far you are from family, how the freeway shapes your day, who is with the child in the long afternoons, and which language rules the house. Only then comes a plan, and we keep it grounded in LA life: naming produce on the Artesia grocery run, a talking game for the crawl down the 405, a steadier response to the meltdown that arrives at the end of a long car-bound day.
You lose nothing by starting cautiously. The Grow tools — our free checklists, milestone guides and printable activity cards — are there for any parent, with or without a paid session, so that a family still making up its mind has something genuinely useful in hand from the very first day.
Twelve hours, and how we tame them
The scheduling puzzle deserves its own honest conversation, because Los Angeles asks more of it than anywhere else we work. We don't try to be clever about it: we pick one reliable weekly window that suits both households — often an LA morning that is our evening, when a child is fresh and we're winding down our day — and we protect it. Predictability, not perfection, is what makes a twelve-hour distance liveable week after week.
We also lean on the gap's one upside. Because our day is your night, we can prepare notes, plans and Grow materials while you sleep, so that by the time your morning arrives, everything for the session is ready and waiting. The distance that complicates the calendar quietly buys you a team that has already done its homework.
Miles between you and the nearest evaluator
In a basin this size, a specialist appointment can mean an hour each way plus the wait, and for a family with one car and two jobs that is a genuine barrier. Video coaching removes the drive entirely, which for many LA parents is the difference between consistent weekly support and support that keeps getting postponed because the traffic won.
It also means we can start supporting a family while they wait for the formal system to turn. California's route can take time to move from first call to first appointment, and we're glad to give parents things to do at home in the meantime — not to replace the evaluation, but so the waiting weeks aren't idle ones.

Questions from families in Los Angeles
Twelve hours is a big gap — is scheduling actually manageable?
It is, once you pick a standing weekly slot. Los Angeles is exactly twelve hours behind Multan, the widest of any city we serve, so an LA morning is our evening and vice versa. We settle on one reliable time and keep it, which turns the gap into a predictable rhythm rather than a nightly headache.
Do you have a California licence or office?
Neither. We work solely online from Multan, Pakistan, with no registration to practise anywhere in the US. We're a coaching and support layer that runs beside your local services — valuable, but never a stand-in for the evaluation and care a licensed California provider gives.
Which languages do sessions run in?
Urdu and English, separately or blended, whatever your household uses. If your child prefers English and you prefer Urdu, we move across both so the conversation flows for everyone.
What is California's Early Start and how do we access it?
Early Start is California's system for young children with developmental concerns, coordinated through the Regional Centers that serve each area. If it's recommended, that's the formal route to evaluation and services. Our coaching supports what happens at home alongside it, not in place of it.
Can you provide occupational therapy?
Not as a licensed service. We help with fine-motor, handwriting and daily-living skills, but there's no registered occupational therapist on our team, so we won't call it occupational therapy. For that specifically, seek a qualified California provider.
Is there something free to begin with?
Yes. Our Grow tools — developmental checklists, activity cards and milestone trackers — are free to any parent, no session needed. Many LA families start there while they decide whether to book coaching.
Who leads the sessions?
Mahnoor Baloch, a speech and language therapist with more than five years of experience, runs the work, supported by colleagues in behaviour, special education, psychology and developmental assessment. You'll usually see the same familiar person each week.
