🇺🇸 Online support in Houston

Video-based development coaching for Pakistani parents across greater Houston

Working out of Multan, our therapists connect by screen with families near the Mahatma Gandhi District and out into the suburbs, switching between Urdu and English so a child hears the same steady prompts whether Baba is on a day shift or a night one.

Support for children and families in Houston

Our centre is in Multan, Pakistan — we don’t have a branch in Houston. For families in Houston we work entirely online, in English or Urdu, and we point you to your own country’s services too.

Along Hillcroft Avenue, the stretch officially named the Mahatma Gandhi District, South Asian Houston does its shopping: sari houses next to biryani counters, jewellers beside phone-unlock kiosks, and Pakistani grocers stacking mangoes by the case in summer. But Houston is a sprawling, freeway-stitched city, and the families who trace their roots to that district now live scattered across Sugar Land, Katy, Pearland and beyond, often a forty-minute drive from the nearest relative. That geography, more than anything, shapes why parents here look for help that arrives through a screen.

Everything we offer runs from a single centre in Multan, Pakistan. We keep no Texas premises and hold no state credential; what we do is meet parents by video and teach them, directly, how to support their own child. The therapist guiding you is Mahnoor Baloch, whose background is more than five years of speech and language practice. Houston families tell us the draw is being understood without translation — describing a late-talking toddler or a hard bedtime in their own words, to someone who grew up with the same rhythms.

Then there is the work itself. This is an energy and medical city, and a striking number of the parents we coach keep shift hours — the plant, the hospital, the refinery, the overnight logistics run. A parent coming off a night shift is not going to sit through a rigid daytime appointment, so we plan around that: a session before a shift, a weekend morning, a routine designed to survive a household where the adults sleep in shifts too.

How we help

Working with families in Houston

Under one roof, the Multan centre offers more than speech alone. Mahnoor's language work sits alongside colleagues in behaviour and ABA-style support, special education, child psychology, developmental assessment, and the practical-skills side of things — handwriting, coordination, and the daily-living steps like feeding and dressing. One honest limit: we do not employ a licensed occupational therapist, so we never present our motor coaching as occupational therapy, and where that exact service is needed we'll point you toward a Houston provider.

We tend to open with a proper conversation about how your days actually run — who is awake when, which parent handles bedtime, how much English versus Urdu your child hears. Only then do we hand you a plan, and we keep it lean on purpose: naming vegetables while you cook, turning the long car ride to Katy into a talking game, coaching a calmer handling of the after-school meltdown.

You do not need to pay to get value from us on day one. The Grow tools — our free checklists, milestone guides and printable activity cards — are open to every parent, session booked or not, because a family still deciding deserves a real head start rather than a sales pitch.

The drive that eats the evening

Houston runs on the freeway. A parent might spend ninety minutes a day on the Sam Houston or the I-10, which means the window for anything extra — a clinic visit, a therapy appointment across town — is brutally thin. That is precisely the friction video removes. There is no drive, no parking, no juggling a second child in a waiting room; the session comes to the kitchen table after the commute is done.

We even put the car to work. Time strapped into a booster seat on the way to Sugar Land is time a child is a captive, attentive audience, so we hand parents simple in-transit language games — spotting colours, naming trucks, finishing a familiar rhyme — that turn dead commute minutes into practice without adding a single task to an overloaded day.

When a parent works the night shift

Shift work quietly reshapes a child's language day. If one parent sleeps through the afternoon and the other works evenings, a toddler can go long stretches with less back-and-forth talk than a nine-to-five household takes for granted. We name that honestly and work with it, helping the awake parent make the most of the hours they do have rather than pretending the schedule looks like anyone else's.

It also means grandparents and older siblings often carry more of the day. We fold them in deliberately — showing a dada or an older sister how a game is meant to go, so the child hears consistent prompting from whoever happens to be home, not just from the parent who booked the session.

FAQ

Questions from families in Houston

Are you a licensed clinic in Texas?

We are not. Our team operates purely online from Multan, Pakistan, and holds no licence or registration to practise in Texas or anywhere in the United States. Think of us as parent coaching that works next to your local services — useful, but never a substitute for the evaluation and care a licensed Texas provider gives.

How do you handle the time gap with shift schedules?

Houston is roughly ten to eleven hours behind us, and we treat that as a feature rather than a problem. Because we schedule around your rota, an early-morning or pre-shift slot on your side lands in our afternoon or evening, so we can find a time that survives night work and irregular hours.

Which languages do you coach in?

Urdu and English, together or apart, whatever your household actually speaks. If your child answers more readily in English while you're more comfortable in Urdu, we move between them without a fuss.

What is Texas ECI and should we sign up?

Texas's Early Childhood Intervention programme is the state's formal route for evaluating and supporting young children with developmental concerns. If you qualify and it's recommended, use it — it's the official path. Our coaching runs alongside it, reinforcing at home what the programme sets in motion.

Can you provide occupational therapy?

Not as a licensed service. We help with fine-motor, handwriting and daily-living skills, but there is no registered occupational therapist on our team, so we won't label it occupational therapy. For that specifically, a qualified Houston-area provider is the right choice.

Is anything free before we commit?

Yes. Our Grow resources — developmental checklists, activity cards and milestone trackers — are free for any parent to use, no booking needed. A lot of Houston families start there while they weigh up coaching.

Who will we actually be working with?

Mahnoor Baloch, a speech and language therapist with over five years' experience, leads the sessions, backed by colleagues in behaviour, special education, psychology and assessment. You generally see the same person week to week.
