Autism support — how Mahnoor works
Mahnoor has worked with autistic children across inclusive schools, paediatric clinics and early-intervention programmes since 2022. The plan is never “make them look typical”. It is communication, regulation, a school day they can survive, and parents who know what to do at 4pm.

Where the experience actually is
Remedial therapist and speech intern, Autism Resource Centre Lahore — Multan branch, 2022. Early-intervention practicum at 4Dots, 2024, on outcomes for young autistic children. Learning support in an inclusive Early Years classroom at Beaconhouse Newlands from 2023. Speech placements that included autistic children at BOL and BASES. Then the centre itself, from 2025, where speech, ABA and special education sit in one plan.
Parents here rarely arrive with the word autism. They arrive with bacha bulane par nahi mudta, apni dunya mein rehta hai. That is enough. Formal diagnosis, when it is needed, is a paediatrician or psychiatrist’s job. We say so.
What the plan usually holds
Joint attention and a way to request. A calmer response to “no”. A classroom ask the teacher can actually try. Toileting and sleep if those are the battles. For older children, friendships, homework size, and the teenage years — mapped on the school-age hub.
Communication first: how she builds requesting and non-verbal communication. Behaviour without a punishment-first plan: behaviour therapy. Sensory load: honest sensory support.
What we will not do
We will not sell a cure. We will not run a programme whose only goal is eye contact. We will not stack five therapies into a toddler’s week until nobody has a home left. Early intervention is two or three skills, practised in meals and play — how she works in the first years.

School and home together
A teacher cannot act on a 20-page report. They can act on a one-page list: seating, one instruction, a way to leave before the crash. That is IEPs and school plans and the letter to school. The child picture is the about my child one-pager.
Teenagers are a different wall — lonelier, more specific. Start at autistic teenagers, friendships and life skills.
Autism — questions parents ask
Do you diagnose autism?
No. We assess communication, play, sensory load and learning, write a plan, and tell you if a medical diagnostic opinion is the next step. Therapy does not have to wait for the letter.
Is this ABA-only?
No. Autistic children here get a mixed plan: speech and language, behaviour support, special education, and psychology when mood or anxiety is the wall. See the autism programme.
My child has no words. Can you still help?
Yes. Requesting can start as a look, a reach, a picture or a device. Spoken words are one output, not the whole of communication. Communication development.
