Inside the hour

What sensory support looks like in a session

The hour is finding what the room does to this child, then teaching a way through an ordinary day — clothes, sound, food, a noisy class. It is not licensed sensory integration therapy. We do not have a gym, and we do not print OT on this page.

Ordinary room. Ordinary clothes. A plan for the day, not a clinic swing.

Written by the Inclusive Developmental and Therapy Center therapy team — our Speech & Language Therapist, psychology and ABA staff. This page is awaiting its clinical review.

Who does the work

Special education and ABA team under Mahnoor’s plan. Not a licensed OT. Not Ayres SI. When a child needs that profession, we refer. Pillar: sensory support. Honest limits: Mahnoor on sensory scope.

The shape of the hour

You describe the week: haircuts, seams, the mixer, the canteen. We try one change in the room — sound, sitting, a texture — and one regulation tool that could exist at home. Stop before a flood. Related: sensory processing, sensory home program.

FAQ

A session — questions parents ask

Is this sensory integration therapy?

No. We do not employ a licensed OT and we do not run a classical SI programme. Practical regulation and daily-skill work only.

Do you have a sensory gym?

No. If a child needs one, that is a different clinic, and we will say so.

Will a weighted blanket fix it?

Sometimes it helps a sit. It is not a treatment on its own, and we will not sell you equipment as a plan.

How do we start?

A consultation is Rs 1,500 and lasts up to 50 minutes. Bring the jumper they will not wear, or a note of the sounds that end the day.
