Inside a session

What a life-skills session looks like

A life-skills session is one real job — a shoe, a lunch box, a flush — taught last-step-first, with a prompt we then fade. Not a lecture about independence.

The real shoe. The last step first. Then you take a step back.

The shape of the hour

You describe or show the routine that fails. We pick one step. We practise in the room that matches the job when we can. Pillar: life skills. Teens: school-age life skills.

Who delivers it

Mahnoor’s plan. ABA daily-living hours often with Noor. Buttons and spoons also sit with motor skills — not licensed OT.

Real clothes, real food, real toilet

Pretend toast teaches pretend toast. We practise in the room that matches the job when we can. You can film the morning that fails — that video is more useful than a questionnaire.

Noor often delivers the ABA daily-living hours: Noor Fatima. Motor overlap: motor skills — not licensed OT.

One skill this month

Twelve goals is how mornings collapse. We pick one step, decide who prompts, and how we fade. Ten days, then we look at the ticks.

FAQ

A session — questions parents ask

Do we practise with real clothes and food?

Yes, when we can. Pretend toast teaches pretend toast.

How many skills at once?

One this month. Twelve at once is how mornings collapse.

Can we practise only in clinic?

You can start here. The job still has to live at home. That is why coaching exists.
