Slow Learner School Near Me: What That Search Is Really Asking
Written by the Inclusive Developmental and Therapy Center therapy team — our Speech & Language Therapist, psychology and ABA staff. Clinical reviewer for this site: Dr Muhammad Suffyan, MB BS (GMC 8023727) · Updated August 2026; this page has changed since our last clinical review.
Parents type slow learner school near me, slow learners school, school for ADHD kids near me, and special needs school curriculum when the mainstream classroom has already said, in one way or another, that this child does not fit. The search wants a building with a uniform and a timetable that will not crush them. That is a fair want. It is also where centres like ours get asked to pretend to be a school.
Inclusive Developmental and Therapy Center in Model Town, Multan is not a school. We do not run a slow-learner school, an ADHD school, or a special-needs day school. We run assessment, speech, behaviour, psychology and one-to-one special education sessions. Mixing those up is how a family pays for “school” and still has no classroom on Monday.
What “slow learner” is being used to mean
Teachers in Pakistan use “slow learner” for at least three different children:
- A child who is a bit behind in most subjects but manages dressing, safety and friends — a true slower academic pace.
- A child whose reading, spelling or maths is far behind while talking and everyday life are fine — often dyslexia, dyscalculia, or writing difficulties.
- A child who is behind in learning and everyday independence — the picture described on intellectual disability.
Those three need different classrooms and different therapy. A school that takes all of them under one “slow learner” sign is not a specialist. It is a net.
What actually exists in Pakistan
- Mainstream school with adjustments. Extra time, a seat at the front, less copying, a teacher who will not shame the copy. Many ADHD and dyslexia learners belong here first. Classroom help, board-exam extra time.
- Government special education. The Special Education Department, Government of Punjab, runs centres with daily classes and a peer group. How to get a disability certificate, the criteria, and the five centres in Multan: disability certificate and special education Punjab. We are not those centres. Intake changes. Contact them directly.
- Private special schools. Quality varies wildly. Ask: who writes the plan, how many children per adult, whether speech exists on site or as a visiting hour, whether they can describe this child or only the brochure.
- A therapy centre — us — for the stuck skill: talking, behaviour, attention, handwriting, a written individual plan. Sessions, not a school day. Special education at Inclusive, special needs curriculum you can hand a teacher.
School for ADHD kids near me
Most children with ADHD do not need a separate school. They need sleep, a shorter start, movement breaks, a teacher who understands unfinished work is not always defiance, and sometimes medication decided by a paediatrician or psychiatrist — not by us. ADHD, ADHD medication, kids’ focus and attention programs.
A separate ADHD school is worth asking about only when the mainstream setting is unsafe, exclusion is repeated, or the child’s learning cannot happen in a class of thirty even with adjustments. Even then, ask what they do at 11am on a Tuesday, not what the Facebook page says.
Special needs school curriculum
A decent special-needs curriculum is staged by skill, not by birthday, and uses the same activity at three levels: one child names, one points, one hands the card. Ours is free to read and print: special needs curriculum for schools. Teachers may use it. A custom fit with staff training is a separate conversation.
If a school will not tell you what they teach, they do not have a curriculum. They have a day.
How we help without becoming a fake school
Mahnoor Baloch leads the first assessment. We say whether the picture looks like a specific learning difficulty, a wider delay, ADHD, language, or something that needs a paediatrician first. Then:
- One-to-one special education hours on a short written plan, with a review date.
- Speech or behaviour if that is the wall, not “while we have you.”
- A letter a parent can take to a school — what to try, not a diagnosis we have not made.
- Online coaching for families who already have a school and need the evenings to work. Online special education coaching.
A consultation is Rs 1,500 and lasts up to 50 minutes. We will tell you if you need a school more than you need us. That sentence costs us a package. It is the honest one.
If you are searching from another city
We have one centre: Model Town, Multan. No branch in your city. Online parent and teacher coaching is complementary to local school and medical services — including if you searched this from the Gulf or the UK while looking for a local SEN school. We cannot write an EHCP, an IEP as a legal document, or an ADEK plan. We can help you practise the skill the classroom is currently losing. Help worldwide.
Frequently asked questions
Do you run a slow learner school in Multan?
No. Inclusive is a children’s therapy centre, not a school. We do assessment, speech, behaviour, psychology and one-to-one special education sessions. Daily classes and a peer group belong in a school or a government special education centre.
Where is a slow learner school near me in Punjab?
Start with the Special Education Department, Government of Punjab — centres, disability certificate, admission criteria. Quality of private special schools varies; ask who writes the plan and how many children per adult. We can help you sort whether the child needs a school, therapy, or both.
Does my child with ADHD need a special school?
Usually not. Most need adjustments in a mainstream class, sleep, shorter work, and sometimes medication decided by a doctor. A separate school is for when the current setting is unsafe or learning cannot happen even with help.
What is the difference between a slow learner and an intellectual disability?
A slow learner is mildly behind in most subjects but manages everyday life. An intellectual disability affects learning and everyday independence together. Dyslexia is one skill far behind while the rest is typical. Mixing them up puts children in the wrong room.
Can you give us a special needs curriculum for our school?
Yes — the five-stage, seven-domain curriculum is free to read, print and download. Using it with your staff, adapted to your students, is a separate consultancy if you want that.
How do we start if we do not know whether we need a school or therapy?
A consultation is Rs 1,500 and lasts up to 50 minutes. Bring school books and a worry. We will say if you need a classroom more than a session.
